Each season brings more opportunities to Keep it Local as community groups and businesses host events and activities that entertain and inspire. From arts performances and concerts, to community fund-raising, to charity runs and unique sales events, you’ll find it all in our Calendar of Events – Harford County’s most comprehensive calendar.
Our updated events calendar includes further details of events listed in the magazine as well as events submitted after the current issue went to press. We update daily, so come back often!
If your organization or business is planning an event that you’d like to have listed, please use our event submission form. Our website updates daily. Please feel free to submit as many events as you like – we encourage it! We choose 60-70 from our website to appear in each printed edition of the magazine.

There is no other performer who looks and sounds so much like Elton John, nor any tribute act that provides the experience of being at an Elton John concert the way Gerald Brann and Yellow Brick Road do. Brann not only bears an uncanny resemblance to the international superstar — complete with gap-toothed smile and many of his mannerisms — but recreates Elton John’s vocals and playing to a tee.
To capture the essence of the piano man, Brann dresses in replica costumes and wears Elton’s trademark outrageous glasses. A trained jazz pianist, Brann has been a lifelong Elton John fan, and his admiration for and love of his music comes shining through as he plays one hit after another with remarkable likeness to the pop music icon. Brann and his talented five-piece band evoke audience participation throughout the entire show — whether singing along to “Rocket Man” and “Your Song,” swaying to “Candle in the Wind,” or hopping and bopping to “Crocodile Rock.”
With an unprecedented nod from the man himself, Gerald Brann was granted permission to use Elton John’s own orchestral scores to perform with the Augusta Symphony Orchestra. In addition, Brann and Yellow Brick Road have been officially endorsed by Hercules, the International Elton John Fan Club, and have played extensively throughout the world to rave reviews.

Next to Normal explores how one suburban household copes with crisis and mental illness. Winner of three 2009 Tony Awards, including Best Musical Score and the 2010 Pulitzer Prize, Next to Normal was also chosen as “one of the year’s ten best shows” by critics around the country, including The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, Rolling Stone and The New York Times.
Dad’s an architect; Mom rushes to pack lunches and pour cereal; their daughter and son are bright, wise-cracking teens, appearing to be a typical American family. And yet their lives are anything but normal because the mother has been battling manic depression for 16 years. Next to Normal takes audiences into the minds and hearts of each character, presenting their family’s story with love, sympathy and heart.
This deeply moving piece of theatre provides a wonderful opportunity for performers to explore dramatic material and showcase vocal talents with an energetic pop/rock score. Next to Normal is an emotional powerhouse that addresses such issues as grieving a loss, ethics in modern psychiatry, and suburban life and is ideal for community theatres, as well as colleges and regional theatre companies.

The music and energy of two legendary stadium rock bands comes together in one electrifying show! Featuring 2X Tony Nominated Star of Broadway’s Rock of Ages and American Idol fame:
Constantine Maroulis.
Almost any music fan who came of age in the 1980s will cite Foreigner and Journey as bands that sound tracked their young life, bands that are forever lodged in their mind. Back then, the two acts might have been separated by an ocean, but together they helped define the “magic era” of classic rock. At one point not too long ago, they toured the world as a one-two combination, but don’t count on it happening again.
Luckily, you can count on Foreigners Journey, a veritable tribute-band supergroup, to deliver the unforgettable experience of seeing both bands in one knockout show. Foreigners Journey comprises veteran members of the music scene, guys who’ve made it with their own original music. But since 2014 they’ve also dedicated themselves to something larger, a supergroup intent on bringing the sounds, sights, and emotional thrills of two of rock ‘n’ roll’s greatest bands to eager fans around the Northeast and beyond.
Featuring 2X Tony Nominated Star of Broadway’s Rock of Ages and American Idol fame, Constantine Maroulis on Lead Vocals. Keyboardist Paul Kochanski, Bassist Joe Pettengill and Drummer Art Mambuca (and his sprawling double kick-drum kit) all played together in the Journey tribute band Captured. And, rounding out the band is hotshot Guitarist Kevin Herrera and Adam Tese on Saxophone. Their repertoire of classics hits by Foreigner and Journey provides a crowd-pleasing night of unforgettable music. Not only heightened to new face melting levels with the addition of Constantine, expect smoldering sexiness, dancers, production and “Rock Of Ages” mash ups that will take you right back to the Sunset Strip. In addition, Foreigners Journey plans to unleash some of Constantine’s critically acclaimed original material on sold out audiences nationally.
From power ballads like “Waiting for a Girl Like You,” “I Want to Know What Love Is,” and “Faithfully” to anthems like “Hot Blooded,” “Stone In Love,” “Cold As Ice,” “Don’t Stop Believin’,” and “Separate Ways,” Foreigners Journey are more than a tribute band. They’re a time machine, and their energy is infectious.
Ticket Prices: VIP (Front Row): $65 online/$75 at the door; Tier One (Rows B-H): $49.50 online/$60 at the door; Tier Two (Rows J-X): $39.50 online/$50 at the door.
Fun, Food, and Bar service inside concert venue begins at 6pm. Concert Doors open at 7pm; Concert begins at 8pm.

Fans tell her it’s uncanny the way her songs seem to take a peek directly into their lives. Much like the Midwestern Ohio landscape she calls home, her songs are stories of middle ground, and her tales are expressions of being in the midst of life. Hers are songs of acceptance. Her music is melodic and lyric rich; this has been validated by her winning the Kerrville New Folk contest in 2008 and the Mountain Stage New Song Contest in 2007, and winning at Falcon Ridge Emerging Artist and Sisters Folk Festival too. Rj has appeared on NPR’s Mountain Stage, and has played venues The Ark and The Bluebird Cafe, and festivals to include the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival and Rocky Mountain Folk Festival.

Imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost – home of the most infamous villains who ever lived – the teenaged children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil have never ventured off the island… until now. When the four troublemakers are sent to attend prep school alongside the children of beloved Disney heroes, they have a difficult choice to make: should they follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps or learn to be good?

From script to the final edits, students will have their hands in the ins and outs of creating a film from scratch. We will create a short film story board, develop a shooting schedule, cast and shoot, and finally edit picture and sound. By the end of two weeks, students will create a 10-15 minute short film. Everyone will rotate to various jobs throughout the camp for real, hand’s on experience.
With the guidance of experienced film makers, this camp will be a hardworking, intense, and rewarding artistic experience. Camp schedule may change to accommodate potential early morning or night shoots dependent on the story created by the students. Film will be screened on August 26th at intermission of the 1:30PM production of Descendants: The Musical.
Tickets to the show not included in the cost of the camp. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door.

No wigs, no backing tracks, no gimmicks, just five musicians recreating the music of Fleetwood Mac to perfection with note for note renditions that no other Fleetwood Mac tribute on the touring scene today can come close to duplicating. Tusk covers all the great hits of Fleetwood Mac, which has featured the talents of Mick Fleetwood, Christine and John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks and others over the years. The five seasoned, well-respected musicians comprising Tusk have been making music together in various combinations and styles, in original outfits and in cover bands, for over twenty-five years.
