The National Park Service recently designated the Havre de Grace Maritime Museum’s exhibit, Underground Railroad: Other Voices of Freedom, as a National Underground Network to Freedom site.

We tell the stories of both successful and failed escapes, black freemen and white abolitionists, bounty hunters and kidnappers, a murder, and an infamous court case that originated in Harford County, Maryland case and became a precursor to the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850.” Mr. Russell will discuss the research behind the exhibit and our overall approach in presenting these stories.

• http://otterpointcreek.org.Featuring the talents of Dar Williams. Dar Williams was always in the right place at the right time for the success she’s had over a 25+-year career. She rose out of the vibrant mid-90’s Boston scene, inspired by the eclectic influences of alt-rockers, Berklee jazz musicians, slam poets, and folk artists like Patty Griffith, Melissa Ferrick, the Throwing Muses, Vance Gilbert, and Jonatha Brooke. With a reporter’s keen eye and a fiction writer’s feel for nuance, Dar takes an honest, objective look at life – her own and that of those around her.
Once a neo-folkie influenced by Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez and Judy Collins, she is now a seasoned artist with an uncanny ability to understand the characters in her songs and treat them with unbiased compassion. She also examines her own life with piercing honesty and humor. Through it all, her songs reflect her unwavering faith in the ability of people to make a better world.

The Vampire Circus has been called a mix of circus cabaret and theater and is the result of a fusion of Tim Burton and Cirque Du Soleil. Enjoy a phenomenal night of live entertainment, based on the multidisciplinary skills of International performers showcasing theater, dance, and gymnastics. This amazing show pushes the physical boundaries of human performance and leaves audiences amazed, astounded, and astonished. Mortal spectators will experience horrific feats of Cirque acrobatics, comical audience interactions, contortionists, jugglers, acrobats, and clowns.
Tantalizing sounds, and mesmerizing illusions catapult audiences into an emotional roller-coaster of fear and joy, laugher, and wonder with raving cheers for a “Mad Graveyard Clown.” The 90-minute production is an immersive ride through the Underworld and Vampires. The Vampire Circus was inspired by the magical, captivating allure of legendary traveling carnivals — and a vision of Francisco Santos, CEO founder and Cirque Du Soleil veteran performer.
Set in Bohemia during the 19 century, Count Dracula contemplates a plan for world domination, when he decides to open a traveling circus with his gypsy bodyguards. The Vampire Circus is a perfect cover-up to travel unnoticed and begin his world reign of terror and turn all humans into an army of vampires for global dominance.
The Vampire Circus is a journey that takes audiences into an immersive experience, plunging guests into a deep hypnotic state while “breaking the fourth wall.” With Vampire Circus, audiences are fully integrated into what is happening in front of them, surrounding them, and at times “inside” of them.

Teach Inspire Grow Yoga brings Social Skills Coaching groups to Lunar Bay Energy Health Center. This group teaches essential skills used daily. The intro is a few minutes of yoga to calm, relax, and focus. Then we read a short story, or section, that introduces the skill of the week. Each week different coping strategies are taught to incorporate ways to regulate the mind and body. These strategies tie into the story for reinforcement. Next, interactive play is used through strategy games (building blocks, puzzles, board game variety) to reinforce the focus topic. In closing, we review learned skills through a yoga session to help regulate our nervous system. Grades K-2 can register for the 6pm slot, and 3rd-8th graders can register for the 7pm slot. Each class is 50 minutes.,

No wigs, no backing tracks, no gimmicks, just five musicians recreating the music of Fleetwood Mac to perfection with note for note renditions that no other Fleetwood Mac tribute on the touring scene today can come close to duplicating. Tusk covers all the great hits of Fleetwood Mac, which has featured the talents of Mick Fleetwood, Christine and John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks and others over the years. The five seasoned, well-respected musicians comprising Tusk have been making music together in various combinations and styles, in original outfits and in cover bands, for over twenty-five years. It seemed only fitting that they should come together to form the Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute, and pay homage to a group that dominated the charts during the band members’ formative years.
Authentic-sounding and always respectful, Tusk leaves no stone unturned in replicating the sounds of one of the world’s best-loved, top-selling bands.

Madame Curie an international celebrity, and luminous watches the latest rage – until the girls who painted them began to fall ill with a mysterious disease. Inspired by a true story, Radium Girls traces the efforts of Grace Fryer, a dial painter, as she fights for her day in court, in what would be one of the most important worker’s rights cases in history. Called a “powerful” and “engrossing” drama by critics, Radium Girls offers a wry, unflinching look at the peculiarly American obsessions with health, wealth, and the commercialization of science.
