Jamsquad Cycling is a non-profit group with the mission to provide new and restored bikes and new helmets to underprivileged youth. Their motto of ‘One kid . . . one bike” reflects their mission:
• We collect, restore and deliver bicycles to youth without the means to buy one.
• We are ambassadors for cycling and introduce kids to the love of cycling.
• We participate in local cycling advocacy and educational events.
• We represent our sponsors with integrity and enthusiasm in cyclo-cross, mountain and road bike races.
In addition to charitable works, Jamsquad has two cycling teams: a club level and an elite level. Team members participate in charity events such as bike workshop days, advocacy events, race organizing and bike racing.
Bringing smiles to children’s faces is wonderful and rewarding. If you’d like to help Jamsquad spread joy to children and make a difference in their lives, there are many ways to help.
Volunteers assist with bicycle workshop days restoring and repairing bikes and with distribution events. You don’t need mechanical expertise or bicycle experience to help; there is always a need for help with sorting bikes and parts, cleaning and even quality checking.
Of course, monetary donations of any amount are appreciated, as are old bikes and parts. Additionally, sponsorships are available. Team members wear Jamsquad gear emblazoned with sponsor logos. It’s like free advertising and a great way to get your business name out there.
